During the winter months, we find that spending more time indoors gives us the opportunity to find issues with our homes. This is the time of year, when many people are looking around their kitchens, living rooms, basements, and bedrooms and thinking, it’s time for an update. Many kitchen renovations may come by simply adding a new coat of paint or changing out the hardware on cabinets or faucets. While there may be some rooms in your home that require a bit more work than that, maybe even a complete facelift.

The room we wanted to focus on this month is the kitchen. Your kitchen is a focal point of your home. It’s where family and friends gather when they come over. With it being such an important room in the house, you want it to stand out! Here at A Stone’s Throw we wanted to share with you a few ideas for you when it comes to renovating your kitchen.

The Backsplash

Many people go with the tile-look for backsplashes, so why not be different? A natural stone look is a great idea for making your kitchen stand out and be different from the others. Besides standing out, natural stone backsplashes provide almost a comfort and warmth to the kitchen, which is always a feeling you want when thinking about your kitchen!

The Countertops

Before there weren’t many outside-the-box options when it came to kitchen countertops. Yes, there were options like marble and slate which provided you with a more modern look, but there weren’t many other unique options. Now, there are choices!! Two options we can assist you with are Live Edge Countertops and Epoxy Countertops.

  • Live Edge Countertops: These types of countertops are great for log cabins. They feature natural wood and provide a unique look to a kitchen.
  • Epoxy Countertops: In our most recent blog, we shared with you a basement bar project that included an epoxy countertop. This type of countertop would also look amazing in a kitchen! The benefit of epoxy is you can have it done in a variety of colors and styles.

If you’re thinking you’re ready to do some updates to your kitchen, let us help you! We can provide you with details that will truly amaze anyone who walks through your doors!
